Alexes has come to stay at our home to care for our animals several times. We have been very, very happy with the care she has given them.  Even more important is that the dog and cats are also happy to have her with them. Sasha's ears perk up and she starts to wag her tail as Alexes comes in the door with her bag.  Alexes comes a little before it is time for us to go so that the animals have the opportunity to greet her and know that they have someone with them before we leave. She likes the animals and is very careful to follow the routine to which they are accustomed.   She plays with them, brushing their coats, scratching their bellies and walking our dog 3 or 4 times a day. She is completely trustworthy and does even more that she is asked to do in caring for the animals and leaving the house in excellent shape for our return.  I certainly would highly recommend her to anyone."  My family asked Alexes to stay with me when they took off for a month in France.  As a sophisticated (and quite sensitive) standard poodle, I was nervous until I met her.  Wow, she is fabulous! She takes me on long walks and lets me sleep on her bed (which really is mine.) And, she talks "dog" fluently.  I adore Alexes, and luckily my family recognizes how much I love her and invite her back when they go away on trips. Alexes has sat for us 3 times. After the first time, when we came home, Eddie kept going in and out of her bedroom, a room he never enters, wondering where she was. Alexes watched my dog, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, for 2 weeks while I was out of the country.  She was very organized and came the night prior so she could observe his regular routine.  She kept me updated how he was doing by email so I could relax and enjoy the trip.  Alexes kept my flowers watered, mail brought in, and the house was spotless when I returned.  She will do her best to keep your pets happy while you’re away.  Sherry, Afton

Alexes has been our dog sitter for our black Lab, Sam, on many occasions, be it either a weekend trip or a three week one. We always feel good leaving Sam in her care as we know he adores her and she takes wonderful care of him!  Alexes is also extremely helpful in the house as she always takes care of her linens, food and any cleaning to be done.  It is a very comforting feeling to know that we leave Sam in the most capable hands of Alexes when we travel. Alexes has been our animal sitter/dog walker for the past three years.  We currently have a dog and a cat and Alexes comes at midday to let the cat out and take our dog for a walk.  She is reliable and dependable.  She clearly loves our animals and they in turn love her.  Every day Alexes leaves us a report on the animals’ activities.  It is a pleasure to come home and know that she was there and read her interesting and witty accounts of our dog’s various antics of the day.  It is also a relief knowing that we can go to work and our dog and cat will not be cooped up all day.  Mike and Carol, Charlottesville

Over the past 5 years my husband and I have had the opportunity to travel.  The first question that came to mind was, “Who will take care of our cat?” and “Who will take care of our house?”  Someone told us about Alexes who was just starting her business.  I called, we spoke at length, and then she came to meet our cat and the house.  Immediately, we knew that ALEXES was the person we needed.  We arrived home to a very happy cat and a well cared for house.  We never worry about anything going wrong with Alexes on board, because there have been times when mechanical problems have arisen, and she took care of everything. When I hired Alexes to come and stay with my dogs, in my home, I did not expect the level of professionalism and caring she provided. The visit prior to even accepting the job was full of very good and probing questions which covered any scenario that might happen.
